A film from the Usha Kiran Movies banner is always welcomed by people who love good cinema. Ravi Babu had earlier come up with a good hit film Nacchavule and as such the expectations on the new film 'Nuvvila' are naturally high. Let us see how the film has turned out to be.
Story:
The story of the film is about three boys and three girls, their life, their aspirations etc. The film also looks at the angle of the parents and their fears and expectations from their children.
Anand is a young guy who has completed his studies. He is now not sure whether he should pursue higher studies or take up a job. So he decides to take a one year break and try to figure out what exactly he wants. He met Archana a girl from Visakhapatnam. He falls in love with her but does not express it as she is in love with a cricketer, Vishnu.
The second guy Mahesh wants to enter the film industry and become a famous violinist. He has a problem. He cannot pronounce the word 'S' and all the word starting with 'S' are pronounced with the first word L in place of S. This helps the director in creating some comedy. A girl Madhavi who is a classmate of Mahesh cannot stand him and the two face trouble every time they come face to face.
The third guy Raju wants to be a fashion designer. He loves a Rani but due to some misunderstanding they part ways.
Archana is pregnant and the person responsible is now other than cricketer Vishnu. She goes to meet him and tell him about this, but he is on the ground playing a match. While she waits for him to come to the pavilion, he suffers he suffers a massive heart attack and dies on the pitch.
Mahesh keeps making rounds of film studios and meets music directors like Chakri, Koti, RP Patnaik, Kalyani Malik and also Keeravani, Rani on the other hand is making rounds of TV channels as she wants to host a cookery programme. The two of them are forced to marry under strange circumstances but still continue to hate each other.
Raju's girlfriend Rani who is angry with him after the split up hires a gay to torment Raju. The rest of the film is how each of the three young men come out of their problems.
Performance:
All the three pairs of lead actors are new. Among the girls Yami gets a meaty role and she does a good job. The other two are okay. Avinash is stiff and just bout manages to do a decent job. Ajay is average. Prasad the fat guy shows ease in acting. He also carries his role quite well. He has the chances of bagging roles as comedian in films. Ravi Babu plays the role of a Police officer. He is his usual self. Radha Kumari's role also evokes some laughter. The rest are just ok.
Analysis:
The film Nuvvila is a bit like Nacchavule. Ravi Babu makes use of three pairs of youngsters to tell his story. The film has been shot entirely in the Film city. Th production vales are decent. The music is okay. The film does not have a racy screenplay and the slow pace in the first half is also a minus factor for the film. Ravi Babu also adds a lot of 'gay' element and episodes in the film and this may not be liked by the family audiences. The front benchers however did seem to enjoy all the 'gay' and double meaning dialogues.
Verdict:
Nuvvila is not a film that will exactly please you. The film is interesting only in parts. While there is a message for parents and children in the film, this is something that has been shown in film after film. So there is noting new or novel in the film. Nuvvila stands somewhere between below average and average.
