Hyderabad, April 21 : TDP MLA G Jaipal Yadav on Saturday demanded that the State Government take immediate steps to resolve the drinking water problem in Mahabubnagar district.
Talking to reporters at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office, Jaipal Yadav said that the drinking water problem in Mahabubnagar district has worsened due to continuous drought and the onset of summer season. He said that the State Government was not in a position to provide even 10 litres of drinking water to each family in the district.
Jaipal Yadav said that about 3,000 villages in the district were affected due to drought. The farmers neither have sufficient water for irrigation nor they are getting proper supply of electricity. He alleged that most of the farmers were being supplied less than three hours of power. He said thousands of farmers were on the verge of losing their crops. He also alleged that the farmers in the district were yet to receive the input subsidy promised by the State Government.
Describing the on-going Prajapatham programme was waste of public money, the Kalvakurthy MLA demanded that the State Government take concrete measure to resolve the problems being faced by the farmers instead of resorting to publicity stunts. He said that the problems have worsened to the extent that the farmers were not in a position to believe the ministers and therefore, they are not allowing them to enter into their villages.
Jaipal Yadav demanded that the government take immediate measures to resolve the problems being faced by farmers, in particular, and the common man, in general.
